Walking 5800km for a great cause.

This morning, I talked with a gentleman from Vancouver, BC, who is between Gull Lake and Swift Current right about now. His name is Bob Lewis, and he is travelling approximately 5800km from Vancouver to New York City, NY. The thing is, he isn't driving, or being driven.

He is walking the entire way.

He is on The Walk For Family Peace to raise awareness for healthy, nuturing family environments. He left from Peace Park in Vancouver on April 6, and he will be walking along the Trans-Canada all the way to Montreal, QC, where he will enter New York State and continue his journey all the way to the Big Apple, and will hopefully end up on the steps of the United Nations just in time for the US Thanksgiving holiday.

You know, it does take a lot of courage, and a great effort to do something like this for something you truly believe in. I wish him all the best in the long journey ahead, and I can only hope that you can do the same. And if he shows up in your town, or a town near you, tell him that you're rooting for him.

In the meantime, the information about his walk is hot-linked above, there is also a blog of the journey on the website (I am already being fed from it), and an opportunity to donate. My taped interview is coming up between 2:30 and 3:30 today on CKSW 570/CJSN 1490 and on SaskTel Max ch.833. If you miss it, I will post a transcript of it at a later date.
