Depressing? Not when the Swedish Chef is singing...

I heard on CBC Radio One a couple of weeks ago that a bar owner in New York City banned the singing of Danny Boy within his establishment because it's depressing, not written by an Irishman, and there are plenty of other traditional Irish songs that can gladly be butchered by drunks on St. Patrick's Day.

Depressing?

Only U2 and The Corrs and The Cranberries can play Danny Boy.

Those are the only Irish bands I know...

How could you not? This song played, like, every 20 minutes back in the late 90s.
