I just found out not more than one hour ago, my most favourite Canadian TV show Corner Gas, filmed and set just a couple of hours from here, will be airing its sixth and final season next fall on CTV.
It came such a long way from this...
I don't know what to say about it, I'm still in a state of shock. It's sad to see a popular and successful TV show go off the air, and I honestly think it still had a good few years left in it (I thought it was going to beat The Beachcombers. They still win 12-up.), but maybe it had to end while it was popular and successful, before it became less so in time. In a typical Canadian TV series before Corner Gas and some that have premiered since, that point was reached in six episodes, not six full seasons.
It will be a long goodbye to the best thing to come from this province since free healthcare, quick-maturing wheat, and Gordie Howe.
I should probably get to Rouleau before they shut things down. I have never been there. Ever.

I agree, it's one of the funniest shows I've seen come out of Canada.
Rub in the free healthcare why don't you!
