The end of another era...

The Beijing Olympics just ended this morning. I miss them already.

So much has happened in the last two weeks. Canada had a great time, even if we only started to show up halfway through. We all saw the fastest of the fastest of Jamaican sprinters, Michael Phelps became, at the least, the greatest aquatic athlete, and someone put his foot down about questionable officiating (I wonder how that French judge is doing these days).

What I'll miss the most about the games has little to do with sport. This was CBC's last broadcast of the Olympics for Canada, where those rights will be CTV's in 2010-2012. And unless lightning strikes twice, we may never hear CBC's catchy Olympic Theme again.

Enjoy it while you can...
