'Called Strike Three by the Home Plate Referee'

Before an Indians ball game last July

This Saturday, when the Swift Current Indians take on the Yorkton Cardinals, I will be the public address announcer at Mitchell Field for that game. It will be the first time ever that I have announced a baseball game.

I got the crash course on how everything works during the doubleheader against St. Albert last night, so I should have a handle on it. So far, I have done announcing for over 100 hockey games, but never a ball game. If you come out on Saturday, don't be surprised if I accidentally call the umpires "referees", or the outfielders "defensemen". But I'll try to avoid that.

I wonder if I should sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the 7th inning stretch. I'm no Harry Carey, but I'm no Jeff Gordon either

I can't wait. Hopefully the home side can pad their lead in the central division with a win tonight and tomorrow.
